About Dr Kiran Puttappa
Dr Kiran Puttappa is a Perth-based GP, CEO and Director of GP West Group, President of AIMA WA and a Council Member of RACGP WA.
Medicine has always been more than a profession. It is a lifelong commitment to serving people and strengthening communities.
After graduating in medicine in 1996, I pursued further medical training in UK and Australia, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2011. I later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes, from Cardiff, further strengthening my clinical expertise.
Over the past two decades, I have combined patient care with healthcare leadership, establishing and growing GP West Group into one of Western Australia’s leading primary healthcare organisations. Throughout this journey, my focus has remained on delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare while creating supportive environments for doctors, staff and patients.
My professional interests extend beyond medicine into healthcare innovation, artificial intelligence, business strategy, medical technology and leadership development. I believe continuous learning, collaboration and innovation are essential to shaping the future of healthcare.
Outside my professional commitments, I enjoy mentoring healthcare professionals, supporting charitable initiatives and exploring opportunities that advance patient care through innovation.
